The prothonotary warbler is one of
the most striking birds you'll see at Magee Marsh—and it's one you're
highly likely to see in spring and summer, since these birds breed
locally at Magee and are largely unafraid of humans. In its
breeding state the bird's plumage features a yellow so intense that
it borders on reddish-yellow. The wings can be almost bluish with
bright olive-gold on the coverts. The bird's song is an
intense "sweet sweet sweet sweet".
