Palm Warbler

The palm warbler is one of the earlier species to pass through Magee Marsh, often being seen in some numbers in April and then peaking in early May.  There are two forms of the species, the eastern (or yellow) and western races, with the eastern being rare at Magee and the western being common, but both races are similar enough to identify based on the rufous cap and frequent flicking of the tail.
