Warbling Vireo

The warbling vireo is a local breeder at Magee Marsh, with peak sighting usually in the second week of May.  The bird is most often confused with the Philadelphia vireo, which often has more yellow on the underside, usually has a more prominent stripe through the eye, and often has a gray rather than brown cast to the head.  The warbling vireo has only a hint of a stripe through the eye, with very little of that stripe being discernible between the eye and the beak.
