Yellow-rumped Warbler

The yellow-rumped ("myrtle") warbler is a very common bird at Magee Marsh in late April and early May.  The most prominent field marks are typically the yellow patches in the armpit and the streaking on the breast.  The yellow on the yead and rump are sometimes harder to see.  There is much variation in plumage in spring, with some males having very striking black patterning on the face and breast.
